BARNSTABLE — The Zoning Board of Appeals granted a variance to unmerge a vacant 27,559-square-foot lot at 123 Old Post Road. Meeting with four members, the board voted 4-0 at each stage. Attorney Lawler, for Matthew Garthy's trust, argued the lot has 25 feet of frontage and that the new variance standard favors housing.
The board also allowed the Town of Barnstable to house as many as six AmeriCorps volunteers at 1445 Osterville-West Barnstable Road, contingent on a Title V septic inspection. Polly Pluczynski said the town gets 1,700 hours of service in exchange. The board granted Jennifer A. Crowley's 52 Fifth Avenue rebuild, accepted AT&T's withdrawal and continued WKC Realty to November 18.
