School Committee · Meeting of November 4, 2026
BARNSTABLE — The Barnstable School Committee voted 4-0 to recommend that the Town Council transfer part of the Centerville Elementary property to the town for a sewer pump station. Town Engineer Griffin Bowden said the 70-by-70-foot site off Evelyn Circle would be below grade and screened, and would let most nearby homes connect by gravity. Construction could begin in summer or fall 2027.
The committee also created a Facilities Subcommittee, chaired by Jennifer Cullum, to evaluate district facility options and make budgetary and policy recommendations, which may include MSBA applications, and accepted Superintendent Sara Ahern's mid-cycle evaluation 4-0. Members approved a May 2027 Quebec trip, 3-0, subject to risk management review.
