BARNSTABLE — The Barnstable Conservation Commission approved nine routine construction projects as negative determinations and continued two more over invasive-species mitigation concerns. Conservation Administrator Ed Hoops and staff member Kim Kavanagh assisted as the commission cleared decks, a garage, a septic upgrade and a restaurant storage addition for applicants including Peter Kennedy, Edward Kolek and Paul Venetti, all by unanimous roll call. A Japanese knotweed removal plan for a Marstons Mills addition, presented by ECR representative Cameron, was continued to October 20 so demarcation lines could be added to the mitigation plan; a commissioner called the infestation "perhaps the worst invasive plant that's out there." The commission also approved, with conditions, repairs to the Creekview Beach Road bridge after engineers Eric and Sebastian said state marine fisheries officials required removing turbidity curtains, pushing in-water construction to a November 2027 to January 2028 window tied to fish-passage restrictions.
