Planning Board · Meeting of October 26, 2026

Barnstable's Planning Board continued a contested Hyannis subdivision hearing to November 23 after citing missing department input. Chair Steve Robichaud and members voted 7-0 to delay action on Gladstone LP's two-lot plan for 32 Pleasant Hill Lane, pending comments from Conservation, DPW, fire and engineering staff on four requested waivers. Engineer Dan Ojala of Down Cape Engineering said the site's wetland stream was formally found "intermittent," but residents and Town Councilor Lisa DeLuz said it has "been perennial all my life" and blamed a past unpermitted dewatering for killed wildlife.

Member Ray said a proposed 10 percent affordable-housing share "ain't gonna make it" with him. Member Catherine Finkenstadt said photos from the 1950s understate "76 years of growth" on the site. The board also approved its September 28 minutes 7-0.
