Flood Watch Issued for Barnstable Through Tuesday

A flood watch covering Barnstable and much of southeastern Massachusetts is in effect through Tuesday afternoon, according to CapeCod.com, as the region prepares for potentially heavy rainfall.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The South Harwich Meetinghouse, at 270 Chatham Road, will host "Summer Lightning," an evening of live music featuring the bands Friendly Fowl and Cranberry Highway, on Friday, July 17. Admission details are available at the door.

Cape Cod audiences also have two arts events on the calendar later this month. On July 18 at 7:30 p.m., an Arts Speak Concert Lecture titled "The Singing Tuba: Expanding the Voice of the Low Brass" offers a free evening exploring the tuba's resonant range within the low brass family. And on July 31, guest artist Kim Savoie will lead a hands-on Fused Glass Pendant Set Workshop, where participants will design and create their own glass pendant pieces.
